Energy and Climate Change

The objective of Energy and Climate Change programme is less carbon intensive energy and increased security of supply.

Special concern shall be given to energy efficiency measures and support for renewable energy, including geothermal energy and hydropower.

Programme areas are:

  • renewable energy
  • energy efficiency
  • energy security
  • climate change mitigation
  • climate change adaption.

The Energy and Climate Change programme is financed from EEA Financial Mechanism with the amount of EUR 17 million of non-refundable funds (grant).

The Republic of Croatia co-finances the Energy and Climate Change programme with the amount of EUR 3 million.

Programme Operator is the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund and the Donor programme partner is Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE).
