On Tuesday, February 27, the Closing conference of the project “Increasing the capacity of educational institutions of Vara\u017edin County for the production of solar energy”<\/strong> was held by the Project Promoter of Vara\u017edin County. The project is financed from the “Energy and Climate Change” Programme<\/strong> within the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) for the period 2014-2021, while the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds is in the role of Programme Operator that supports and monitors the implementation of the mentioned Project.<\/p>\n

In her address, State Secretary Spomenka \u0110uri\u0107 congratulated Vara\u017edin County on the well-designed and successfully implemented project and pointed out: “The project you implemented is one of the model examples of how in practice the funds allocated as part of the call for ‘Increasing capacity for solar energy production\u201d. In addition to strengthening your capacity to manage and promote renewable energy sources, you have contributed to the reduction of CO2 emissions, as well as increased security of electricity supply.”<\/p>\n

In addition to the construction and extension of photovoltaic power plants on the roofs of 12 educational institutions in Vara\u017edin County, the project also included workshops intended for school employees, while brochures with information on renewable energy sources were designed and distributed for primary and secondary school students.<\/p>\n

The Project Promoter is Vara\u017edin County, and the project partner is the Public Institution for Regional Development of Vara\u017edin County. The total value of the project is EUR 351,226.25, of which 85% of the amount, or EUR 298,542.31, refers to the funds of the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, and 15% of the amount, or EUR 52,683.94, is the own co-financing of the Vara\u017edin County.<\/p>\n
