On the roofs of 14 public institutions – kindergartens, elementary schools and Hostel Karlovac in Selce, solar power plants have been installed and put into permanent operation, where these facilities already produce electricity for their needs.

On Tuesday, 26 March 2024, in the Great Hall of the City of Karlovac, the Closing conference of the project “Solarization of institutions of the City of Karlovac – SolariKA”, the Project Promoter of the City of Karlovac, was held for the purpose of presenting the results of the Project. The project is financed through the EEA Grants within the Energy and Climate Change Programme, where the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds is in the role of Programme Operator and supports and monitors the implementation of this Project.

“The fact is that all these 14 roofs work and all our institutions, schools and kindergartens, but also our Hostel in Selce produce their electricity. To us in Karlovac, this is a confirmation that it is possible”, concludes Mayor Damir Mandić.
