Restricted Call for additional funding of projects published in the scope of the “Energy and Climate Change“ Programme

The Restricted Call for additional funding of projects within the Calls for Proposals “Energy production from the sea” and “Increased geothermal energy production capacity“ was published on 7th July 2023 in the scope of the “Energy and Climate Change” Programme.

The Call for additional funding of projects worth 693.100,20 EUR refers to contracted projects within the Call “Energy production from the sea” and “Increased geothermal energy production capacity“, which include the following activities:

  • Increase the installed capacity of energy from the sea,
  • Increase in production of energy from the sea and annual CO2 emissions reduction, which are exclusively related to the costs of equipment and/or works,
  • Increase the installed capacity of geothermal energy,
  • Increase geothermal energy production and annual CO2 emission reduction,
  • Full-scale, demonstration and pilot project investments related to the activities such as: construction or refurbishment of production and injection wells in areas with existing exploration or production licenses; refurbishment and/or extension of an existing geothermal heating system; construction of infrastructure connection(s) to integrate geothermal heat into an existing district heating system; technological and infrastructure changes to existing district heating systems to integrate geothermal energy source(s).

Eligible applicants are all Project Promoters with whom MRDEUF signed a Project Contract within the Calls for Proposals “Energy production from the sea” and “Increased geothermal energy production capacity“.

The projects financed in the scope of the Restricted Call are supported by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area, where the same project grant rates specified in the budget lines that need to be additionally financed will be applied to the allocated additional grants.
