The fourth Call for Project Proposals in the scope of the “Energy and Climate Change“ Programme published

The fourth Call for Project Proposals “Increased geothermal energy production capacity was published on 29th November 2021 in the scope of the “Energy and Climate Change” Programme.

The Call for Project Proposals supports the implementation of the pilot projects for increasing the capacities for production and usage of heat from produced from geothermal energy in the amount of 4.956.000,00 EUR, including the activities as follows:

  • Construction or refurbishment of production and injection wells in areas with existing exploration or production licenses;
  • Refurbishment and/or extension of an existing geothermal heating system;
  • Construction of infrastructure connection(s) to integrate geothermal heat into an existing district heating system;
  • Technological and infrastructure changes to existing district heating systems to integrate geothermal energy source(s).

The eligible applicants are public or private entities, commercial or non-commercial and non-governmental organizations, established as legal persons in Croatia, while the eligible partner organization can be established both in Croatia and the donor states (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein).

The projects financed in the scope of the Calls for proposals are supported by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area in the amount of up to 85%.
