Seminar for Programme Operators in the field of Environment, Climate and Energy

Financial Mechanism Office held on 15 November 2023 in Brussels a seminar for Programme Operators in the field of Environment, Climate and Energy, which are implemented within the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021. Representatives of Programme Operators from Croatia, Bulgaria, Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia took part in the seminar.

In the first part of the seminar, a workshop was organized on the results and impact of green programmes in the financial mechanisms 2014-2021 during which the participants discussed the results achieved and their sustainability, as well as the challenges they face at the level of individual programmes within the following thematic areas:

• Energy efficiency and/or renewable energy.
• Climate change mitigation and adaptation.
• Biosphere, restoration and conservation of nature.
• Circular economy and waste management.

In the second part of the seminar, key information relevant to the submission of the “Final Programme Report” was presented, with the aim of providing relevant information to Programme Operators, while the Final Programme Report template was also presented for this purpose.

In conclusion, the representatives of the Financial Mechanism Office announced that in the first quarter of 2024, a separate workshop for Programme Operators will be organized, which will deal with the concrete steps necessary for the submission of the “Final Programme Report”.
