SAVE THE DATE: International Conference of the Energy and Climate Change Programme – Energy and Climate Challenges of the Republic of Croatia, 13 – 14 April 2023

The two-day Conference of the Energy and Climate Change Programme organized by the Programme Operator (Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, Directorate for European Territorial Cooperation), Programme Partner (Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar), Donor Programme Partner (Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate) will be held in Zadar from 13th till 14th April 2023, with the support of donor countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (EEA Grants).

The opening of the Conference will be attended by high officials of the Republic of Croatia, Kingdom of Norway and Iceland, whereas the event shall encompass the relevant political and operational level with an emphasis on the Energy and Climate Change Programme, i.e. the general field of energy and renewable energy sources. Furthermore, the focus would be put on the current state of play and implemented programme activities, as well as the perspective of the Programme which is to be in the future implemented in the Republic of Croatia through EEA Grants.

During the Conference, the focus will be on reducing CO2 emissions/decarbonization and it would be discussed by key speakers, representatives of energy institutions from the Republic of Croatia, Kingdom of Norway and Iceland, as well as official representatives of Croatia`s cities and counties in the role of Project Promoters to which grants were eventually awarded and are actively working on projects implementation within the Energy and Climate Change Programme.

Additionally, the interactive discussions are foreseen in the form of round tables on topics such as solar energy, energy from the sea and geothermal energy, in which prominent domestic and foreign experts, scientists, entrepreneurs and EEA Grants beneficiaries shall participate. Moreover, special attention should be put on climate and environmental policy within the EEA and Norway Grants and accordingly represented as well as discussed by representatives of Programme Operators from Croatia along with other beneficiary countries performing within the scope of EEA and Norway Grants.
